Unit: Genomics

Master degree in Molecular Biology, I year

The course (15 credits) is a detailed account on most aspects of modern genomics approaches, in particular Next-Generation Sequencing applications.

The practicals (20 hours) are an introductory course to the Perl programming language. After some basic exercises about operators, functions, file handling and subroutines, we will start a project to build a program for automatic primer picking for gap-closure in a real genome shotgun project carried on in our laboratory.
