The Genomics and Bioinformatics research unit at the Department of Biology in the Interdepartmental Biological Building of the University of Padua is working on several aspects of genomic research, ranging from bioinformatics to metagenomics and large scale genome analysis.

In the last ten years, we specialized in NGS data analysis, including reads alignment, variant calling, variant annotation and prioritization, transcriptome, miRNA analysis, ChipSeq and metagenomics. Our latest developed tools QueryOr and SCUBA were specifically designed to facilitate the analysis of human variants from exome and genome sequencing.

Metagenomics projects are mainly focused on anaerobic digestion, marine  samples and food microbiology.

Microbial investigations are also focused on analysis of sigma factors and G-quadruplexes in Micobacterium tubercolosis .

As a part of CRIBI, we are open to collaborations and we offer advanced SERVICES for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Bioinformatics.
